Valley Center Information and Highlights

Valley Center is a census-designated place that resides in North San Diego County, California. With a smaller population, Valley Center has more of a country Californian charm to it, and the fields tend to extend across the entirety of the area. Historically, it shares many similarities to the areas around it, having been part of the discovered lands by both Native American tribes seven to ten thousand years ago, and then founded by missionaries from Spain later on. Valley Center was also the site of the capture of the largest California Grizzly Bear in all of history in 1866. The grizzly weighed twenty-two hundred pounds and was killed in the area. Though the town had been formed in 1845 and homesteaded in 1862, it had no formal name until the event, which gave it its first name of Bear Valley. The name was changed several times: to Valley in 1874, to Valley Centre in 1878, and then finally to the Valley Center known today in 1887. As it stands today, Valley Center is an area surrounded by beautiful nature, convenient locations on all sides, and plenty of opportunities for both potential house hunters and visitors alike to enjoy its beauty.

Valley Center experiences the typical Californian weather, as well as the swells, heat and light breezes off of the Pacific coast, with higher heats in the rocky hill areas. Temperatures stay fairly consist throughout the year with higher heats, precipitation and humidity involved, especially in the summer months.
